Cookie Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on the petsyplanet.pl, petsyplanet.app websites, and how you can manage your preferences.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on future visits and improve your experience. Browser storage (localStorage), where the site saves some settings, works in a similar way. This policy describes it together with cookies.
What cookies do we use?
Essential (always active)
Required for the site to function. No consent needed.
- cookie_consent: remembers your cookie choice (browser localStorage, not sent to the server).
- woof_user_token, woof_user_refresh, woof_user_expires: keep you signed in to the carer panel (“My pets”) after you sign in with a code from your email. We save them in localStorage only after you sign in and remove them when you sign out.
Analytics (consent required)
Help us understand how visitors use the site. We load the Google script only after you consent to analytics cookies; before that, the site does not connect to Google Analytics.
- Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js): ID G-0PVL4WBN1T on petsyplanet.pl and G-00N6ZP3B3D on petsyplanet.app. Statistics on visits and events, such as clicks on the app download buttons and account sign-ups. Google then sets the _ga cookie and a _ga_ cookie followed by the ID.
We do not send Google your email address, account identifier or pet data. Google derives an approximate location from your IP address. It retains the data according to the service's retention settings.
Marketing (consent required)
These require separate consent to marketing cookies. Without it, we do not load the Google Ads tag and do not store campaign labels.
- Google Ads (tag AW-18449502041), only on petsyplanet.pl: measures how many sign-ups our ads brought. The conversion event contains no email address or account identifier. Ad personalisation is turned off. Google may set its own advertising cookies, such as _gcl_au.
- petsy_registration_attribution_v1: the campaign that brought you to the site (labels from the address, such as utm_source and utm_campaign), valid for up to 30 days. It lets us attribute an account sign-up to a campaign.
- petsy_store_handoff_v1: a marker for moving from the site to the app store, used to link an installation to a campaign.
We store both markers in localStorage only with marketing consent and delete them when it is withdrawn. Partner offers in the mobile app are a separate matter, described in the Privacy Policy.
How to manage cookies
You can at any time:
- Update your preferences via the cookie banner (shown on your first visit) or the “Cookie settings” button in the site footer
- Clear cookies and site data in your browser settings
- Install a blocking extension (e.g. Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin)
After you withdraw consent, the site stops sending data to Google. You can delete cookies previously set by Google in your browser settings. Disabling analytics and marketing cookies does not affect how the site works.
Third-party cookies
The third parties embedded on this site are Google Analytics and Google Ads, loaded only after you consent. Google then sets its own cookies and processes data under its own policy. City name suggestions in the carer panel use the Photon service (Komoot), which receives the text you type and your IP address but does not set cookies.
QR tag analytics in PostHog Cloud EU
In a separate optional programme from 2 November 2026, only after fresh PostHog consent, we measure tag views and contact attempts. We send an event name, time, contact method and a random identifier for one visit, kept only in browser memory. We do not send page URLs, QR tokens, pet details, phone numbers, email addresses, location or form content. No session recording or linking visits. The provider is PostHog, Inc., with the project in the EU region (Frankfurt); IP storage and location enrichment are disabled. The provider receives our server’s technical IP address. Data availability in this project is 12 months; this does not guarantee physical deletion at the same moment. Withdraw consent in cookie settings to stop future measurement and clear the visit identifier; withdrawal does not automatically erase previously processed data. Contact hi@petsyplanet.pl about your rights or erasure.
